Question: Do nebulisers invalidate the fast by agreement, or are they akin to normal inhalers? Opinions from medics would be much appreciated.

Answer: Nebulizers create a very fine mist by air compression containing the medication, which is inhaled.
In the books of fiqh, anything that reaches the throat and has benefit in it will break the fast if done intentionally.
However, due to necessity, in some cases where a person needs it, using it will break the fast, and there will be qadha (cover-up) only.
If it is used without a need, then along with qadha, one will have to follow it up with kaffarah (expiation).
Hope this answers the question.
Only Allah (عز و جل) knows best.

Reference:
Most nebulizers work by using air compressors to create the mist containing the medicine. A different kind, called an ultrasonic nebulizer, uses sound vibrations.
