Question

Am I correct in that you can give 3 talaq baains in one sitting and it will be considered as 1?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

Allah (swt) mentions in the Quran, “Divorce is twice, thereafter either retaining her honourably or releasing her kindly… If he divorces her (the third time), she will not be lawful for him unless she marries another husband (and he also divorces her).”[1]

Therefore, to give 3 talaq bains in one sitting will be considered as 3 talaaqs, as mentioned in the book Al-Fatawa Al-Hindiya.[2]
