Question

Assalamualaykum. There was a fatwa put up some time back regarding transactions with non-Muslims and the regulations being less strict etc.

بِسْمِا للهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيْم

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

Wa alaykumus Salaam. I am not aware of the fatwa you are referring to, but transactions for Non-Muslims (Dhimmi) is less strict compared to Muslims. For example, they can buy, sell, and trade with wine and swine, which is not permissible for a Muslim to do because wine and swine are considered to be wealth for them and not for Muslims.[1]
