Question:

As Salaamu Alaykum, if some water gathered in the shower and a person washed impurity off him and he didn’t know if this water now was clean or not (as he was still washing after the impurity was cleaned from the body part) and so he normally washes his feet before getting out the bath but if on one occasion he didn’t have a wet dream but used the bathroom and didn’t wash the front private part but only used tissue so when he had a shower he was wondering if the water touched any dried urine and spread and so he didn’t wash the feet as normal and wore his slippers and then wondered if his slippers became impure

What is the method to wash impure water affected slippers, does one have to wash once, wait for them to dry and then wash a second time and wait for them to dry then wash a third or can one wash 3 times without waiting for them to dry?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

A few points must be mentioned here first:

  1. If you are using a regular modern-day bathtub, washing the feet separately is most likely not necessary for you (although good to do), because water usually does not pool up around the feet in such bathtubs. (Unless the water does pool up around your feet, then washing them separately will be necessary). Hence your feet were most likely clean from when you had showered.

  1. The water which you had used during Ghusl (Maa’ Musta’mal) is not impure. Hence, your feet do not have impurity on them from this water touching them.1

All in all, your slippers were most likely not impure. This was all probably from overthinking the whole matter. But to remove your doubts, you can simply rinse the slippers (once is sufficient)2. And for future incidents, always remember that nothing clean becomes impure unless you are certain that Najaasah has touched it.3
