Answer:

Alhamdulillah, as you have mentioned that you are married and there is no doubt in that. The automatic negative thoughts that you seem to be facing do not change your marital status. Allah SWT has made our limbs to do specific jobs. For example, the job of the hands is to touch and hold, the job of the feet is to walk and etc. The job of the brain is to think. You will never be able to stop thinking about something whether it's positive or negative. The only way you can move forward and be happy is to think about something else that is positive when those negative thoughts come about. You have to treat it as if it’s a barking dog by not giving those thoughts any attention. Instead, turn your attention immediately and busy yourself with good actions and positive thoughts.

The Prophet SAW teaches us this in a hadith where he says, “Shaytan will come to one of you and he will say, “Who created this? Who created this?” Until he will say, “Who created your Lord?” When he reaches this point, then he should seek protection in Allah and leave thinking about this thought.” In the commentary of this Hadith, the scholars mention that to stop thinking about something the person should become busy with something else. If he/she continues to think and prove to himself/herself that the issue is a certain way, then the thoughts will always find a way back to the person through one path or the other. [1]

In addition to reciting أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم and turning your attention immediately and busying yourself with good action and positive thoughts, you should also make a habit of reciting the three quls (Surah Ikhlas, Falaq, and Naas) three times morning and evening [2]. You should also make sure that your five daily prayers are in order and completed. All of these things are a protection for you and help in negative thoughts and whisperings from Shaytan.
