Question:
What are the descriptions of the Hur al Iyn in the Quran and Hadeeth?
May Allah reward you.
Answer:
In The Name Of Allah, The Most-Merciful, The Most Kind
Allah has many rewards ready for his servants in Paradise. Rewards for men as well as for women. Some of these rewards are specifically for men and some specifically for women. The hūr al-'ayn is an example of a reward, especially for men.
The hūr al-'ayn are described (as follows) in the Quran and Sunnah:
{Indeed, the righteous will be in a secure place. Within gardens and springs, wearing [garments of] fine silk and brocade, facing each other. Thus. And We will marry them to fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes.} (44, 51-54)
{In them are women limiting [their] glances, untouched before them by man or jinni} (55, 56)
{In them are good and beautiful women.} (55, 70)
{Indeed the place of success is for the pious. Gardens and grapes, and maidens of single age and an overflowing cup.} (78, 31-34)
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: ’’The first batch (of people) who will enter Paradise will be (glittering) like the full moon, and the batch next to them will be (glittering) like the most brilliant star in the sky. Their hearts will be as if the heart of a single man, for they will have neither enmity nor jealousy amongst themselves; everyone will have two wives from the hūr al-'ayn, (who will be so beautiful, pure and transparent that) the marrow of the bones of their legs will be seen through the bones and the flesh.’’[1]
These are (just) some of the descriptions we can find in the Quran and Sunnah. Despite these descriptions we are not able to comprehend the favours of Allah (for us) in Paradise. The prophet (peace be upon him) said: ’’I have prepared for my pious slaves in Paradise those comforts which no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no human being has ever imagined.’’[2]
May Allah grant us the highest ranks in Jannah.
Only Allah knows best
