Question:
What is your opinion about the legality of ova retrieval for in vitro fertilization done for Muslim infertile couples.? Note kindly that the question is particular about the stage of getting an ovum out of ovaries for IVF…isn’t this process against nature? If yes, then what is the status of IVF? If not, then how do you justify ova retrieval for IVF?

Answer:
This procedure is permissible out of necessity the egg is from the wife and the sperm is from the husband.1
Though this procedure is not the natural method to conceive it will be permissible out of necessity.
