Question:

Asalaamu alaykum, a question: When an imam is to be corrected in Tarawih and he corrects himself then gestures with to those behind him can that be classed as excessive movement in salah?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

In Hanafi Fiqh, if the gesture is small and not distracting, the prayer will not be invalidated.[1]

Therefore this would not be regarded as excessive movement.

Only Allah knows best.
