I heard that you cannot pray salah at different times of the day.
In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful.
Uqbah ibn Amir narrates that there were three times at which Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) forbade us to pray, or bury our dead: When the sun begins to rise till it is fully up, when the sun is at its height at midday till it passes over the meridian, and when the sun draws near to setting till it sets. (Sahih Muslim: 409)
It is clear from the above that there are three times when Salah should not be performed.
- Sunrise till it has fully risen.
- Midday until it has passed the central point.
- Sunset until it has set.(Only that days Asr salah may be read)
Furthermore it is makrooh tahreemi to pray any nafal salah after subhe sadik (dawn) till after sunrise. (The fajr sunnah and qadah prayers may be read during that time.) The same ruling is for the period after Asr fardh till after sunset where no nafal should be read. (Durrul Muhtar, Vol 1, P276)
