Question
I am very fortunate that there are many masaajid near where I live. Usually, I was attending one masjid for Isha/Taraweeh where they were praying 20 rakaats and completing the recitation of the whole Qur'an.
This year, they have changed and are praying 8 rakaats and the Quran recitation is being incorporated from Isha salaat onwards. They will complete the reading like that.
Another masjid prays 8 and has very nice recitation. Another prays 20 but from the end of Juz Amma. Another prays 20, reading a few ayaat in each rakah (from the beginning, but not to completion).
I thought about joining Isha salaat and then praying Taraweeh at home (I am not hafiz).
If the Imam leads 8, I pray further 12 on my own anyway.
Which of these options results in the highest rewards? Or is it just down to preference?

Answer
The most correct opinion is that it is Sunnah Muakkdah to do at least one khatam of the Holy Quran in tarawih during the Month of Ramadhan. (Bahrur Raaiq p.61 v.1)
The view of my respected teachers is that you should read the Tarawih Salah in the mosque where there is a full completion of the Holy Quran and read the remaining rakats by yourself. One can perform the remaining rakaats after Witr Salah or straightaway and read the Witr later on by himself. (Fatawa Darul Uloom Deoband p.274 v.2)
