Question

I don’t want to get married after him because I was so loyal to his love and still, is it true that I can get married to him in heaven if he or I requested it? Is it true that I can get married to him since I did not get married to him on earth? One of the imams said yes! I don’t know if it's true but I really need an answer.

Answer:

Bismillah

It is mentioned in the Holy Qur’an that a husband and wife will both be together in Jannah and Paradise.

Allah subḥānahu wa ta'āla (glorified and exalted be He) says:

“They and their wives will be in pleasant shade, reclining on thrones.” (Yasin v.56)

In another place Allah the Al-Mighty says:

“Enter Paradise, you and your wives, in happiness.” (Surah Zukhruf v.70)

Muhammed Bin Kaab Al-Qurazi raḥimahullāh (may Allāh have mercy upon him) narrates from a person from the Ansar that the Prophet of Allah ṣallallāhu 'alayhi wa sallam (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) said, "I take the oath of that Being who sent me with the truth, you are not more acquainted with your wives and houses than the people of Jannah. A person of Jannah will come to 72 wives which Allah specially created in Jannah and two human wives. The human wives will have virtue over the heavenly wives because they worshipped Allah in this world. (At-Targheeb Wat-Tarheeb p.534 v.4)

Regarding your question, if Allah wills you may marry your fiancé in the hereafter as is clearly mentioned in the hadith that a man will have two worldly wives along with the heavenly wives.

However, at the same time if you do find someone later on in your life who is religious and pious and he offers his hand for marriage then don’t let the hope of being with your fiancé in the hereafter divert you from the proposal.
