Question:

Assalualikum lately me and my wife have been going through a bad patch were we are not happy with each other now in a heated conversation I repeatedly said to her 5 times we might as well get divorced and I meant it does that mean we are divorced

Answer:

In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful.

The aforementioned statement will not affect the marriage. The aforementioned statement will be treated like a threat of divorce and a threat or warning does not effect talaq even though you had the intention. (Badaaius Sanaai p.210 v.2)
