As for whether the shoes have to be flexible enough to enable correct posture for Sajdah, this is certainly preferable but not necessary as pointing one&#39;s toes towards the Qibla is an emphasized Sunna of the prayer (Tahtawi on Maraqi al-Falah p.365 v.1)<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"color:#000000;\"><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">However, one should not pray Salah with shoes on in the Masjid. The time and era of the Prophet <img title=\"\u1e63allall\u0101hu 'alayhi wa sallam (peace and blessings of All\u0101h be upon him)\" alt=\"\u1e63allall\u0101hu 'alayhi wa sallam (peace and blessings of All\u0101h be upon him)\" class=\"islamic_graphic\" src=\"https:\/\/daruliftabirmingham.co.uk\/wp-content\/plugins\/islamic-graphics\/img\/black\/20\/saw.png\" height=\"12px\">&nbsp;was different. Masjid Nabawi had pebbles on the floor and did not have carpet. For this reason the Jurists have stated that it is Makrooh to pray with shoes on in the Masjid (which are fitted with carpets) even if the shoes do not have impurity on them. (Fatawa Mahmoodiyah p.66 v.13)<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"color:#000000;\"><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">In the Holy Quran, Allah <img title=\"sub\u1e25\u0101nahu wa ta'\u0101la (glorified and exalted be He)\" alt=\"sub\u1e25\u0101nahu wa ta'\u0101la (glorified and exalted be He)\" class=\"islamic_graphic\" src=\"https:\/\/daruliftabirmingham.co.uk\/wp-content\/plugins\/islamic-graphics\/img\/black\/20\/swt.png\" height=\"12px\">&nbsp;commanded Saaiduna Musa Alayhis Salam to take off his shoes when he was on the sacred valley of Tuwa.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"color:#000000;\"><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">&lsquo;Remove your shoes, you are in the sacred valley of Tuwa&rsquo;. (Surah Taha v.12)<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"color:#000000;\"><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">The commentators of the Holy Quran have derived that one should remove his shoes when entering sacred places.
