{"id":10473,"date":"2018-08-08T16:57:48","date_gmt":"2018-08-08T16:57:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/daruliftabirmingham.co.uk\/?p=10473"},"modified":"2018-08-08T16:57:48","modified_gmt":"2018-08-08T16:57:48","slug":"in-the-state-of-janabat-whilst-fasting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/daruliftabirmingham.co.uk\/home\/in-the-state-of-janabat-whilst-fasting\/","title":{"rendered":"In the state of Janabat whilst fasting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: right;\">\n\t<span style=\"color:#000000;\"><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\"><strong>Fatwa ID: 02579<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"color:#000000;\"><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\"><strong>Answered by: <\/strong>Mufti&nbsp;Mohammed Tosir Miah<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"color:#000000;\"><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\"><strong>Question<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"color:#000000;\"><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">Before sehri, if a person has sexual intercourse, masturbates or has a wet dream does he have to perform ghusl before sehri time is over, and if he doesn&#39;t would his fast be invalid<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"color:#000000;\"><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\"><strong>Answer<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"color:#000000;\"><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">Firstly, it should be borne in mind that masturbation is something which is haraam and unlawful in Islam.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"color:#000000;\"><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">Allah states in the Quran: <em>&ldquo;And those who guard their private parts, except with their spouses or those who are legally in their possession, for in that case they shall not be blamed, however, those who seek to go beyond that in lust are the ones who shall be the transgressors.&rdquo;<\/em> (Surah Al Muminun: 5-7)<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"color:#000000;\"><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">&nbsp;After praising the believers for guarding their private parts from that which He has made forbidden for them Allah has warned that the transgressors are those who go beyond what is lawful. Imam Qurtubi on commenting on the above verse states that according to the scholars (with the exception of Imam Ahmed ibn Hambal) masturbation is haram. (Tafseer Qurtubi, Vol 12, P98)<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"color:#000000;\"><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">&nbsp;Abdullah narrates, &ldquo;We were with the Prophet while we were young and had no wealth whatever. So Allah&#39;s Apostle said, &quot;O young people! Whoever among you can marry, should marry, because it helps him lower his gaze and guard his modesty (i.e. his private parts from committing illegal sexual intercourse etc.), and whoever is not able to marry, should fast, as fasting diminishes his sexual power.&rdquo; (Bukhari, 7.4)<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"color:#000000;\"><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">If masturbation was permissible, Prophet <img title=\"\u1e63allall\u0101hu 'alayhi wa sallam (peace and blessings of All\u0101h be upon him)\" alt=\"\u1e63allall\u0101hu 'alayhi wa sallam (peace and blessings of All\u0101h be upon him)\" class=\"islamic_graphic\" src=\"https:\/\/daruliftabirmingham.co.uk\/wp-content\/plugins\/islamic-graphics\/img\/black\/20\/saw.png\" height=\"12px\"> would have mentioned it at this point.
