\n\tAssalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tIs it haram to thread your eyebrows in Islam?<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t \n<\/p>\n

\n\tAnswer:<\/b><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t <\/b><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tIn the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful<\/b><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t \n<\/p>\n

\n\tIt is prohibited to pluck or thread the eyebrows in Islam unless there is a necessity to do so. This is derived from the hadith of the Prophet (peace be upon him) who said:<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t“Allah has cursed those women who practice tattooing and those women who have themselves tattooed, and those women who get their hair removed from their eyebrows and faces (except the beard and the moustache), and those who make artificial spaces between their teeth for beauty, whereby they change Allah's creation.”[1]<\/a><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tAllamah Ibn Abidin mentions one such case of necessity which is when it becomes a deterrent for the husband to be attracted to his wife, in which case taking a few hairs off in order to beautify herself for her husband will be permissible.[2]<\/a><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tIt will also be permissible to slightly trim the eyebrows if the hairs of the eyebrows are extremely bushy by which it looks defective, or if the eyebrows are connected. <\/a><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n
