\n\tI recently came into the knowledge that household items such as toilet tissue etc are held together by gelatin compounds. Would this be halal for us to use, would this fall under the rule of istihala (transformation)?<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThere are different factories that use varying methods when producing these items therefore passing one blanket ruling cannot suffice. A few points to consider though are, 1) when using such products, one is not consuming them, therefore, its permissibility is out of the question, and 2) products such as toilet tissue do in fact go through a transformation, but whether or not the transformation is complete or not would require a more detail scenario. This much is true that the gelatine contained in them is no longer in its original state therefore, making use of such products is permissible.<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n
