\n\tI have a question relating to the ajza of the Quran. Is there any history behind the making of the juz? Like what was the history behind deciding where each juz begins and ends? For example, in the Quran usually, with the Usmani script, the 20th starts at \u0641\u0645\u0627 \u0643\u0627\u0646 \u062c\u0648\u0627\u0628 \u0642\u0648\u0645\u0647<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tBut then in the Indo Pak script, the Qurans starts at \u0627\u0645\u0646 \u062e\u0644\u0642<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tRegarding the division of the Qur'\u0101n into the thirty parts (ajz\u0101'), we do not have specific information as to exactly when it happened. The best information we have is that it was not done by the Prophet \ufdfa or his companions, but that it was done by \u1e24ajj\u0101j bin Y\u016bsuf al-Thaqaf\u012b, who died in 110 AH, and that this division was done based on the number of letters (Majm\u016b\u02bbu al-Fat\u0101w\u0101, 13\/409). This division was not based on the meaning of the Qur'\u0101n.<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThere are some small variations (by a verse or a few verses) between the ways that the ajz\u0101' have been divided, such as in juz' 4 (starts at \u0644\u0646 \u062a\u0646\u0627\u0644\u0648\u0627 or \u0643\u0644 \u0627\u0644\u0637\u0639\u0627\u0645), juz' 7 (starts at \u0644\u062a\u062c\u062f\u0646 or \u0648\u0625\u0630\u0627 \u0633\u0645\u0639\u0648\u0627), and juz' 20 (starts at \u0623\u0645\u0646 \u062e\u0644\u0642 or \u0641\u0645\u0627 \u0643\u0627\u0646 \u062c\u0648\u0627\u0628).<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n
