\n\tI have a specific question on how to perform istinja for men – how to clean oneself after urinating, and the use of the hands in cleaning the penis after urinating.<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tHaving finished urinating, and after istibra', and using tissue paper:<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t \n<\/p>\n

\n\t1. Must one use their left hand to wash the penis whilst using their right hand to pour the water onto the penis?<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t \n<\/p>\n

\n\t2. Or, is it sufficient to pour water on the penis, and NOT use one's hand to wash or touch the penis whilst water is being poured onto the penis, and thus the pouring of the water alone onto the penis would be enough to ensure purity?<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe answer varies from person to person. After completing urinating, it is important to prevent any excess urine from leaking. For some people, simply pouring water without touching is sufficient. For others, urine drops may remain in the private part — so it would be important to use the left hand to squeeze gently or use toilet paper, or cough gently, etc. to achieve complete purity.[1]<\/a><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n
