\n\tPlease confirm if this is a Hadith of the Prophet (saw) and if it is authentic:<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t"An hour of contemplation [a form of zikr] is better than a year of worship" (Al-Amudi, Ghurar Al-Hikam, No.6537)<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tAnswer:<\/u><\/b><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThis is an Athar (statement) of some of the companions of the Prophet (peace be upon them). The wording of the statement has differed between the narrations as follows:<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t\u25cf     Contemplation for some amount of time is better than worship for sixty years.<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t\u25cf     Contemplation for some amount of time is better than worship for eighty years.<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t\u25cf     Contemplation for some amount of time is better than standing in worship for a night.<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t \n<\/p>\n

\n\tMost of the variations have been narrated through weak chains. However, the last three versions mentioned above have been narrated from Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) through a strong authentic chain.[1]<\/sup><\/sup><\/a><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n
