\n\t \n<\/p>\n

\n\tThis Had\u012bth is from the J\u0101mi\u02bb of Im\u0101m Al-Tirmidh\u012b (Had\u012bth 2911), under the chapter of the virtues of the Qur'\u0101n. A rough translation is as follows:<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t \n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Prophet \ufdfasaid: "All\u0101h does not listen to anything more virtuous from a worshipper than two rak\u02bbahs (units) of prayer that he performs. Indeed, righteousness spreads over the head over the worshipper as long as he stays in his prayer. And the worshippers shall not draw nearer to All\u0101h with similar to what came from Him."<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t \n<\/p>\n

\n\tRegarding "what came from Him", Im\u0101m Al-Tirmidh\u012b mentions that Ab\u016b Al-Na\u1e0dr said: "meaning the Qur'\u0101n". The scholars have explained that the most virtuous of the acts of worship is the performance of prayer and that the best way to gain closeness to All\u0101h is through His words (i.e. the Qur'\u0101n). They also explained that the "righteousness spreading over the head" is the mercy of All\u0101h and a reward from Him as a result of the piety of the worshipper in prayer. (Tu\u1e25fatu al-A\u1e25wadh\u012b, 8\/184-185).<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n
