When the imam ascends the Mimbar, he sits on it and the Muadhdhin calls the adhan in front of the Mimbar.&rdquo; <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">[See Mukhtasar Al-Quduri p. 66, Taha Publishers, 2010]<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">The reason why this person is objecting is because of the following narration: &ldquo;`Uthman bin `Affan introduced the second Adhan on Fridays when the number of the people in the mosque increased. Previously the Adhan on Fridays used to be pronounced only after the Imam had taken his seat (on the pulpit).&rdquo; <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">[Bukhari #915]<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\"> The overwhelming majority of scholars continued the practice from that time and it is therefore considered to be the Sunnah. Since the Prophet encouraged us to follow the way of the rightly guided leaders afterward, and since the purpose of the additional adhan is still relevant, this should be followed.
