J\u0101birra\u1e0d\u012bAll\u0101hu\u02bbanhu narrated the Messenger of All\u0101h\ufdfa cursed the one who consumes rib\u0101, the one who pays it, the ones who writes it down, and the one who witnesses it (\u1e62a\u1e25\u012b\u1e25 Muslim, \u1e25ad\u012bth 1598). Money consumed through rib\u0101is harmful both in this life and the next, and there is harsh punishment for the one who deals with rib\u0101.<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">All\u0101h says: &quot;O you who have believed, fear All\u0101h and give up what remains [due to you] of interest if you should be believers. And if you do not, then be informed of a war [against you] from All\u0101h and His Messenger&quot; (Qur&#39;\u0101n, 2:278-279). How can there be any possibility of success for a person who is in war against All\u0101h?<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">&quot;Allah destroys interest and gives increase for charities&quot; <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">(Qur&#39;\u0101n, 2:276). <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">Money earned through rib\u0101 is devoid of any barakah (blessing).<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">The Prophet \ufdfa is reported to have described the case of a man who travelled widely, had dishevelled hair and a dusty appearance, and he raised his hands in supplication, begging from All\u0101h. The man exhibited many characteristics that would normally make supplication (du\u02bb\u0101) more likely to be accepted from a person. <\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">However, this man had earned and consumed \u1e25ar\u0101m, so the Prophet \ufdfa described that his du\u02bb\u0101 was less likely to be responded to <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">(\u1e62a\u1e25\u012b\u1e25 Muslim, 1015).<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">There is punishment in Al-Barzakh (the interval between death and the Day of Resurrection) for the person who consumed rib\u0101, as explained by Im\u0101m Ibn \u1e24ajar regarding the meanings of Had\u012bth 1386 and 7047 in \u1e62a\u1e25\u012b\u1e25 Al-Bukh\u0101r\u012b.<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">All\u0101h says: &quot;Those who consume interest cannot stand [on the Day of Resurrection] except as one stands who is being beaten by Satan into insanity&quot;<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">(Qur&#39;\u0101n, 2:275).<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">All\u0101h says &quot;whoever returns to [dealing in interest or usury] &#8211; those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide eternally therein&#8221; (Qur&#8217;\u0101n, 2:275).
