And a man should not ask for the hand of a girl who is already engaged to his Muslim brother, unless the first suitor gives her up, or allows him to ask for her hand&quot;<\/span><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"> (\u1e62a\u1e25\u012b\u1e25 Al-Bukh\u0101r\u012b, Had\u012bth 5142).<\/span><span style=\"font-size:16px;\"> This refers to the time after a proposal has been made (\u012bj\u0101b) and accepted (qab\u016bl) &#8212; in other words, the transaction or engagement is complete <\/span><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">(Al-Ba\u1e25ru Al-R\u0101&#39;iq, 6\/107, Raddu Al-Mu\u1e25t\u0101r, 5\/102)<\/span><span style=\"font-size:16px;\">.
