\n\tAs Salamu Alaikum. When we are just lying down, is it necessary to sit when Azaan starts?<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tDear Questioner.<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t \n<\/p>\n

\n\tThere is no sin in lying down while listening to Adhan. However, part of the etiquette of the Adhan is to respond to the Mu’adhin, send prayers and salutation on the prophet, and making dua after the adhan.<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t \n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t“When you hear the muezzin, say what he says” (Reported by Muslim).<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t \n<\/p>\n

\n\tJabir Ibn Abdullah narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon) him said whoever recites the following supplication after the Adhan shall get intercession on the Day of Judgment. The supplication is:<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t“O Allah! Lord of this complete c<\/a>all and established prayer give Muhammad the position and distinction, and give him the praised station that you have promised” (Reported by Bukhari)<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tLastly, while the adhan is being said, people need to make preparation for the Salah and therefore it makes no sense to remain lying down.<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n
