Or do the Fatiha &amp; Qirat of the Imam suffice for the Muqtadi?<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">4) Also does the Thanaa of the Imam suffice for the Muqtadi?<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">5) When joining Salah late, does one have to recite Thanaa? If so, can he recite while the Imam is reciting or when the Imam is saying the Takbeer to go to ruku or sujood?<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\n\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\"><strong><u>In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\"><strong><u>Answer:<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">1) Takbeer Tahreema is an obligation (Fard) and the other Takbeer in the prayers are Sunnah (Tradition of the prophet). Therefore not saying the other Takbeer would not invalidate the Prayers.<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">[See: Aap Ke Masail Aur Un Ka Hal, vol: 1, page: 183, publisher: Bangladesh Islamic Center Dhaka]<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">So, Takbeer Tahrima needs to be said vocally.<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">2) Prayers would not be valid if one was to recite Qirat in his mind. Every word needs to be read vocally.<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">[See: Aap Ke Masail Aur Un Ka Hal, vol: 1, page: 194, publisher: Bangladesh Islamic Center Dhaka]<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">As for Tasbeeh in the prayers, they are sunnah (a tradition from the prophet).<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">[See al-Fiqhul Muyassar by Shofiqur Rahman Nadvi, page: 85.&nbsp; Anward-Dirayah Fe Sarhil Wiqayah, chapter: Salah.&nbsp; Al-Hidayah, vol: 1, Chapter: Salah]<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">Thus, not saying them vocally would not revoke the prayer.<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">3) Reciting Qirat behind the Imam is a disputed matter. According to Imam Abu Hanifah (r.a), recitation of Qirat is Imam&#39;s responsibility and not the people behind him.<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">[See: Aap Ke Masail Aur Un Ka Hal, vol: 1, page: 194, publisher: Bangladesh Islamic Center Dhaka]<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">Therefore, the recitation of Fatiha and Qirat by the Imam suffice for the Muqtadi.<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">4) Reading Thana is a Sunnah.<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">[See: al-Fiqhul Muyassar by Shofiqur Rahman Nadvi, page: 85.&nbsp; Anward-Dirayah fe Sarhil Wiqayah, chapter: Salah.&nbsp; Al-Hidayah, vol: 1, Chapter: Salah]<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">Thus, the Imam&#39;s Thana will suffice for the Muqtadi.<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">5) If he joins in a Rakah in which reciting loud is required then he should not read Thana and if the Rakah requires silent recitation then he should read Thana.<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">[See: Alomghiri, vol; 1, page: 121, publisher: Bangladesh Taj Company Dhaka]<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">While Imam is pronouncing the Takbeer for Ruku or Sajdah, one should not read Thana.
