I exactly don&#8217;t know that it is sperm <\/span><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">or urine. So, please guide me on whether I can pray <\/span><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">and read the Quran or not.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><strong><u>In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><strong><u>Answer:<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Firstly, sperm is a thick white fluid which is generally discharged due to sexual arousal by touching, looking, sexual intercourse, etc. (Al-Badai As-Sanai, Volume 1, Page 273 &amp; 278, Darul Kutubul Ilmiyyah)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">If the fluid that is being discharged is sperm, there are 2 possible scenarios:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">If the sperm was discharged due to sexual arousal, ghusl (ritual bath) will become obligatory (Fardh).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">If the sperm was not discharged as a result of sexual arousal, rather due to other reasons such as lifting a heavy object or being hit on the back, etc. it will not be necessary to perform ghusl. (Al-Badai As-Sanai, Volume 1, Page 277, Darul Kutubul Ilmiyyah)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Secondly, if the fluid is urine or the second scenario mentioned above, it will invalidate the wudhu and the wudhu will have to be renewed. This is because all those fluid which are discharged through the private parts invalidate the wudhu. (Al-Badai As-Sanai, Volume 1, Page 230, Darul Kutubul Ilmiyyah)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">In regards to your question, if the fluid that is discharged sperm due to sexual arousal, it will not be permissible to perform salah or to recite the Quran until ghusl is performed.
