{"id":18761,"date":"2020-12-04T15:08:49","date_gmt":"2020-12-04T15:08:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/daruliftabirmingham.co.uk\/?p=18761"},"modified":"2020-12-04T15:08:49","modified_gmt":"2020-12-04T15:08:49","slug":"the-method-of-sajda-sahwa-in-salaah-and-when-it-should-be-done","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/daruliftabirmingham.co.uk\/home\/the-method-of-sajda-sahwa-in-salaah-and-when-it-should-be-done\/","title":{"rendered":"The Method of Sajda Sahwa in Salaah and When It Should Be Done"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>Fatwa ID: 04646<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>Answered by: Maulana Qadeer Ahmed Tariq<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong><u>Question<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">Please relate the method of sajda sahwa in salaah and when it should be done.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong><u>In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong><u>Answer<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">A sajda sahw is wajib under the following conditions:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">If a fardh part of the prayer is ignored or missed intentionally or unintentionally.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">If a wajib part is missed intentionally.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">If a person causes an undue delay in the performance of a wajib or fard part of salat.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">If a person repeats or overdoes something.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">If a person recites the Qur&#8217;an audibly where it should be recited inaudibly or vice-versa.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">If a person forgets to stand in qauma or to sit in jalsah.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">If a person forgets to observe the first sitting (qa&#8217;dahula) and stands up, he should not resume the sitting position on remembering the mistake but should complete the prayer and perform sajdah sahwe. However, if he realizes his mistake before standing up fully, he should sit down and need not perform sajdah sahwe.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">If a person forgets to observe the final sitting position in a fard prayer containing two or four rak&#8217;ahs and stands up, he should sit down if he realizes the mistake before performing the sajdah (of the extra rak&#8217;ah) and carries out sajdah sahwe to complete the prayer. If however, he realizes his mistake after performing the sajdah (of the extra rak&#8217;ah), he should not sit but perform another rak&#8217;ah to complete four or six rak&#8217;ahs. He need not perform sajdah sahwe, for this prayer will be regarded as nafl and fard prayer will have to be offered again.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">If a person forgets to recite Al-Fatiha, Qunut, or tashahhud or the additional takbirs in Eid Prayer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">If the Imam omits or ignores wajib of the prayer, the follower has to perform sajdah sahwe with the Imam. But if the follower omits a wajib neither of them has to perform sajdah sahwe.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">If a person omits to recite the additional surah in one or both of the first rak&#8217;ahs of the fard prayer he may recite the additional surah in one or both of the last rak&#8217;ah and perform sajdah sahwe at the end.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">If a person omits to recite the additional surah in any rak&#8217;ah of the sunnah or nafl prayer, he must perform sajdah sahwe at the end.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">If in the final sitting of a fard prayer or four rak&#8217;ahs a person has completed tashahhud and then has a doubt that this is his first sitting, he should stand up for the fifth rak&#8217;ah. Now if before performing the sajdah he realizes his mistake he should resume the sitting position and complete his prayer with sajdah sahwe. But if he has performed the sajdah of the fifth rak&#8217;ah, he should add the sixth rak&#8217;ah as well and complete his prayer with sajdah sahwe. The first four rak&#8217;ahs will be regarded as the fard prayer and the last two as nafl.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">If the Imam or individual omits to recite Al-Fatiha in one or both of the last two rak&#8217;ahs of a fard prayer of four rak&#8217;ahs, he need not carry out sajdah sahwe.
