Bone marrow donation<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2. Stem cell donation<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Answer:\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to the Islamic Jurisprudence (which is based on the teachings of the Qur\u2019an and Sunnah) the use of unlawful things are permitted in cases of extreme need and necessity. Allah <\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">says in Quran :<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">\u201cHe (Allah) has only forbidden you dead meat, and blood, and the flesh of swine, and that on which any other name has been invoked besides that of Allah. But if one is forced by necessity, without wilful disobedience, nor transgressing due limits, then he is guiltless. For Allah is Most Forgiving and Most Merciful.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Allah <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">also permits the utterance of disbelief (kufr) in order to save your life. Allah says:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">\u201cAnyone who, after accepting faith in Allah, utters unbelief, except under compulsion whilst his heart remaining firm in faith\u2026\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">The principle of Fiqh, based on the above Qur\u2019anic guidelines, states:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">\u201cNecessity makes prohibition lawful.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Therefore, in cases of need and necessity, impure, unlawful, and Haram things become permissible. When a person\u2019s life is in danger and he is in dire need, then in such a situation, bone marrow and stem cell donation will be permissible.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There is also the juristic principle that\u00a0 &#8220;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If one is confronted with two evils, one should choose the lesser of the two.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">If an individual is drowning or is in the midst of a burning flame, it is totally permissible to go and save him and put yourself in danger.
