Please advise if it will be impermissible during relations to kiss the clitoral area for arousal purposes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Answer<\/u><\/span><\/h1>\n

 <\/p>\n

It is permissible to touch, stroke, and fondle the genitals of one’s spouse.\u00a0 All these fall under the act of foreplay, which is an important part of sexual intercourse.\u00a0 Imam Ibn Qayyim (RA) mentions that Saaiduna Jabir Ibn Abdullah Radiallahu Anhu is reported to have said, \u201cThe Prophet of Allah Sallallahu Alahi Wasalam forbade from engaging in sex before foreplay.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0 (Al-Tibb Nabawi p.181)<\/span><\/p>\n

Saaiduna Anas Ibn Malik Radiallahu narrates that the Prophet of Allah Sallallahu Alahi Wasalam said \u2018none of you would come to his wife like an animal; but rather there should be between them a messenger.\u00a0 It was said, \u201cWhat is the messenger O Prophet of Allah?\u201d He replied \u201cKissing and words\u201d \u2019 (Imam Ghazali in his Ihya Ulumud Din and Imam Daylami in his Musnadul Firdaws)<\/span><\/p>\n

It is stated in Fatawa Hindiyyah that Imam Abu Yusuf (RA) said: \u201cI asked Imam Abu Hanifa (RA) regarding a man who strokes his wife\u2019s vagina and she strokes his penis in order that he gets an erection, do you see any wrong in that?\u201d He replied, \u201cNo, rather I am confident that one will be rewarded for doing so.\u201d \u2019 (Fatawa Hindiyyah p.328 v.5)<\/span><\/p>\n

Moreover, it is permissible for the husband to insert his fingers in his wife\u2019s vagina so that she may reach orgasm and likewise for the wife to use her hands to masturbate her husband.\u00a0\u00a0 (Raddul Muhtar p.371 v.3)<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Licking the clitoral area may lead to the semen (Mani) or pre-ejaculatory fluid (Madhi) being mixed with the man\u2019s saliva, thus, making it impermissible. (Fatawa Rahimiyah p.270 v.6 & Fatawa Hindiyya p.372 v.5)\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

However, if the act consists of the husband kissing her genitals and he avoids any areas where there is pre-ejaculatory fluid, then there is a difference of opinion. Some scholars say that it will be permissible (Mubah), although disliked whilst others say it will still remain Makruh (disliked). (See Fatawa Rahimiyah p.406 v.9)<\/span><\/p>\n
