One of them was heedless about preventing urine from getting on his clothes, and the other used to walk about spreading malicious gossip.'&#8221;<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"#_ftn1\" name=\"_ftnref1\">[1]<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">In the terminologies of Islamic jurisprudence, there is the term \u2018Al-Istibra\u2019 which means to clear the urine passage from droplets of urine until one is confident that no droplets will exit the urine passage. This is a compulsory act after urinating.<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"#_ftn2\" name=\"_ftnref2\">[2]<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">An example of this as explained by my teachers is that of a hose pipe used for watering plants etc. After turning the tap off if one was to move or swing the pipe water droplets which are remaining in the pipe will exit from the pipe.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">In this manner urine droplets also remain in the urine passage which may exit due to movement and therefore practical steps need to be adopted before one can perform wudhu and salah as they will nullify the two and the clothing will become impure.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">Some practical steps that can be taken are:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">Coughing<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">Using tissue paper<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">Going for a walk<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">Lying down<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">Squatting etc.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">There are many more methods that can be adopted and this will differ for every individual. <a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"#_ftn3\" name=\"_ftnref3\">[3]<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">In regards to your question, precautions must be taken to ensure to clear the urine passage of any drops. With the exiting of the drops, the wudhu will be nullified and therefore salah cannot be performed and if the drops make contact with clothes, they will need to be cleaned.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">Mufti Rasheed Ahmed (may Allah have mercy upon him) has stated:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">\u201cThe aim of Al-Istibrah is so that a person\u2019s mind comes to ease and one is confident that no droplet will exit the urine passage. If one is not content (about a drop exiting) then it will not be proper to start wudhu in such a state.
