Looking at the farewell sermon of our beloved Prophet Muhammad(\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645). The question I have is, did the prophet know he was going to pass away? If so, do we know how he knew?<\/span><\/p>\n

Umar( \u0631\u0636\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647 ) used to make me sit with the elderly men who had fought in the Battle of Badr. Some of them felt it (did not like that) and said to Umar( \u0631\u0636\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647 ) “Why do you bring in this boy to sit with us while we have sons like him?”Umar( \u0631\u0636\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647 ) replied, “Because of what you know of his position (i.e. his religious knowledge.)”.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

One day Umar( \u0631\u0636\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647 ) called me and made me sit in the gathering of those people, and I think that he called me just to show them. (my religious knowledge). Umar( \u0631\u0636\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647 ) then asked them (in my presence). “What do you say about the interpretation of the Statement of Allah:<\/span><\/p>\n

\ufd3f\u0625\u0630\u0627 \u062c\u0627\u0621\u064e \u0646\u064e\u0635\u0652\u0631\u064f \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0647\u0650 \u0648\u0627\u0644\u0641\u064e\u062a\u0652\u062d\u064f\ufd3e<\/span><\/p>\n

‘When comes Help of Allah (to you O, Muhammad(\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645) against your enemies) and the conquest (of Makkah).’ (Surah Nasr, Verse 1)<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Some of them said, “We are ordered to praise Allah and ask for His forgiveness when Allah’s Help and the conquest (of Makkah) comes to us.” Some others kept quiet and did not say anything. On that, Umar( \u0631\u0636\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647 ) asked me, “Do you say the same, O Ibn Abbas( \u0631\u0636\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647\u0645\u0627 )?” I replied, “No.” He said, ‘What do you say then?” I replied, “That is the sign of the death of Allah’s Messenger (\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645)which Allah informed him of.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Allah (\u0639\u0632 \u0648 \u062c\u0644)said:<\/span><\/p>\n

\ufd3f\u0625\u0630\u0627 \u062c\u0627\u0621\u064e \u0646\u064e\u0635\u0652\u0631\u064f \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0647\u0650 \u0648\u0627\u0644\u0641\u064e\u062a\u0652\u062d\u064f\ufd3e<\/span><\/p>\n

‘(O Muhammad(\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645)) When comes the Help of Allah (to you against your enemies) and the conquest (of Makkah).(Surah Nasr, Verse 1)<\/span><\/p>\n

Which is the sign of your death.<\/span><\/p>\n

\ufd3f\u0641\u064e\u0633\u064e\u0628\u0651\u0650\u062d\u0652 \u0628\u0650\u062d\u064e\u0645\u0652\u062f\u0650 \u0631\u064e\u0628\u0651\u0650\u0643\u064e \u0648\u0627\u0633\u0652\u062a\u064e\u063a\u0652\u0641\u0650\u0631\u0652\u0647\u064f \u0625\u0646\u0651\u064e\u0647\u064f \u0643\u0627\u0646\u064e \u062a\u064e\u0648\u0651\u0627\u0628\u064b\u0627\ufd3e<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cYou should celebrate the praises of your Lord and ask for His Forgiveness, and He is the One Who accepts the repentance and forgives\u201d.(Surah Nasr, Verse 3).<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

On that Umar( \u0631\u0636\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647 ) said, “I do not know anything about it other than what you have said.”[1]<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Hence, our beloved Prophet Muhammad(\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645), knew His(\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645)departure from the world is close as His mission was near to an end due to this Surah.<\/span><\/p>\n
