What is the ruling with regards to a woman not covering her awrah in front of a blind man?<\/span><\/p>\n

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Answer:<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

A Muslim woman wishing to practice Islam is required to cover her \u2018awrah <\/em>(nudeness) in the presence of a non-ma\u1e25ram man who has blindness.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cUmm Salamah narrated that she and Maym\u016bnah were with the Messenger of All\u0101h (peace and blessings be upon him<\/em>); “So when we were with him, Ibn Umm Maktum came, and he entered upon him, and that was after [the laws of] veiling had been ordered for us. So the Messenger of All\u0101h (peace and blessings be upon him<\/em>) said: \u201cVeil yourselves from him.\u201dSo I said, \u201cO Messenger of All\u0101h! Is he not blind such that he cannot see us or recognize us?\u201dSo the Messenger of All\u0101h (peace and blessings be upon him<\/em>) stated, \u201cAre you two blind such that you cannot see him?'”. \u2013 (Tirmidh\u012b 2778)[1]<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n
