Question:<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I borrowed a book from a masjids library and informed the office. To the best of my memory, I returned and left the Kitab in the office.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I am now trying to locate the whereabouts of this book and cannot seem to find it. \u00a0I have asked the office manager, but he does not recall me returning the book.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Is it my responsibility if the book has been lost? \u00a0Or are these just waswasa? The masjid is big and active; it could be anywhere in the masjid but not visible at the moment.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

P.s I have managed to find an electronic version of this book as it was a very old print. If I forward the electronic version to the office manager\/administrator to store on the masjid\u2019s website would that suffice?<\/span><\/p>\n

Imam Quduri R.A. explains \u201cWhen someone borrows an [riding] animal and returns it to the stable of its owner, and it perishes, [the borrower] is not liable, and [likewise] if he borrows an item and returns it to the house of the owner but does not hand it to him, he is not liable.\u201d1<\/sup><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Since you returned the book to the library you are no longer liable.<\/span><\/p>\n
