I make intention in the following way before performing ghusl:<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

When I am sure that I am in jan\u0101bah<\/em> and impure after menstruation: I intend to perform ghusl<\/em> for removing major ritual impurity which includes both jan\u0101bah<\/em> and menstruation.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

When I am not sure if I am in jan\u0101bah<\/em> or not (I am sure that I am impure because of menstruation): I intend to perform ghusl<\/em> from major ritual impurity. (I do not mention menstruation or jan\u0101bah<\/em>. I may be in jan\u0101bah,<\/em> in case, I may have had a wet dream).<\/span><\/p>\n

I know that in the \u1e24anaf\u012b school, the intention is not necessary for ghusl<\/em>. Is my ghusl<\/em> valid in the explained cases? Will my ghusl<\/em> be valid if I just make my intention like this: I intend to remove major ritual impurity (not mentioning what it includes whether I am sure or not)?<\/span><\/p>\n

In the \u1e24anaf\u012b school, once the far\u0101i<\/em>\u1e0d<\/em> (mandatory acts) of ghusl<\/em> (ritual bath) is completed, the ghusl<\/em> is valid and one will be deemed clean and pure. The 3 far\u0101i<\/em>\u1e0d<\/em> in the \u1e24anaf\u012b school are, gargling to rinse the mouth, cleaning the nose up to the soft bone, and finally washing one\u2019s entire external body to the extent that not even a single hair is left dry. In other schools of jurisprudence, the intention is mandatory. The mere intention of gaining purity from impurities prior to making the ghusl is sufficient.
