I teach Quran and one of my students has special needs. She finds it very difficult to read although she is an adult. I let her read without following tajweed rules and makarij. Is this ok?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

When teaching Qur\u2019an, one should aim to enable students to recite in the best way possible. You should encourage your student to develop the practice of reciting the Qur\u2019an with Tajweed.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In Salah, the Qur\u2019an should be read in the proper way, otherwise, there is a risk of it not invalidating the Salah. Generally, the rule is that as long as the mistake does not change the meaning of the Ayah, it will not invalidate Salah (Fatawa Tatarkhania, Vol 2, Pg 107). Although there is the opinion that Salah is not invalidated due to mistakes in recitation, it would be best to take steps to avoid it (Fatawa Tatarkhania, Vol 2, Pg 110).<\/span><\/p>\n

Aishah (Ra) narrates: The Prophet (\ufdfa) said, “One who is proficient in the Qur’an is associated with the noble, upright, recording angels; and he who falters in it and finds it difficult for him, will have two rewards.\u201d (Sahih Muslim, 798)<\/span><\/p>\n

To conclude, you should help your student to read with Tajweed and improve her recitation.<\/span><\/p>\n
