Is cutting the nails and hair not permissible? Is putting on henna or wearing new clothes not permitted until after the sacrifice has been slaughtered<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong><u>In the name of <em>All<\/em><\/u><\/strong><strong><em><u>\u0101<\/u><\/em><\/strong><strong><em><u>h<\/u><\/em><\/strong><strong><u>, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong><u>Answer:<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">The Prophet \ufdfa has said: \u201cWhen the days of <em>Dhul Hijjah<\/em> commence and any of you intend to sacrifice an animal, then he should not remove his hair or trim his nails until he has sacrificed his animal.\u201d [<em>Sunan Ibn M<\/em><em>\u0101jah: Hadith 3149<\/em>] [1]<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">However, if one\u2019s bodily hair in their private areas or their nails have not been cut for more than 40 days then it would be incumbent (<em>W<\/em><em>\u0101jib<\/em>) for them to cut it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">Moreover, the Prophet \ufdfa has said: \u201cNo good deeds done on any other days are superior to those done on these (first ten days of <em>Dhul Hijja<\/em>h).\u201d Then some companions of the Prophet \ufdfa asked: \u201cNot even <em>Jih<\/em><em>\u0101d<\/em>?\u201d He \ufdfa replied: \u201cNot even <em>Jih<\/em><em>\u0101d<\/em>, except that of a man who does it by putting himself and his property in danger (for <em>All<\/em><em>\u0101h&#8217;s<\/em> sake) and does not return with any of those. (i.e., he gives his life and wealth in <em>All<\/em><em>\u0101h&#8217;s<\/em> path) [<em>Sahih al-Bukhari: Hadith 969<\/em>] [2]<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">Adorning oneself with henna or good clothes can always be done. There are no restrictions on this. The restrictions only apply to those performing <em>Hajj.<\/em> [<em>Radd ul-Muht<\/em><em>\u0101r: vol. 7, pg. 220<\/em>] [3]<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">If one is able to fast then they should try to fast all nine days leading up to the day of <em>Eid.<\/em> They can increase their reciting of the Noble <em>Qur\u2019<\/em><em>\u0101n<\/em>, do <em>Zikr,<\/em> <em>Durood<\/em> and etc. Possibly, even more, crucial would be to make all efforts to avoid sins during this
