Had a fight with husband. Out of anger, he said, \u201cchal ghar se farig ho\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

After a few minutes we were both normal. In my mind, I kept thinking what if it counts as a divorce? Then I asked him, and he said, I meant to get lost and away.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

And even took a qasam<\/em> and said I had no intention to divorce. So my question is will it be counted as divorce or not?<\/span><\/p>\n

In the name of\u00a0All<\/em><\/u><\/strong>\u0101<\/u><\/em><\/strong>h<\/u><\/em><\/strong>, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Answer:<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

In the above-described situation, divorce has not taken place unless the husband intended \u201cdivorce\u201d. If there is no intention of divorce by the husband then the quoted statement does not constitute a divorce. \u2013 (See: Rad Al-Mu\u1e25t\u0101r, Vol 3, Page 296, D\u0101r Al-Fikr1<\/sup>)<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018Abd All\u0101h Ibn Yaz\u012bd bin Ruk\u0101nah narrated from his father, from his grandfather (may All\u0101h be pleased with them) who said, \u201cO Messenger of All\u0101h! I irrevocably divorced my wife.\u201d So he asked, \u201cWhat did you intend by that?\u201d I replied, \u201cOne (divorce pronouncement).\u201d He then questioned, \u201c[Do you swear] By All\u0101h?\u201d I stated, \u201c[Yes] By All\u0101h.\u201d He clarified, \u201cThen it is as you intended.\u201d \u2013 (Tirmidh\u012b 1177)2<\/sup><\/span><\/p>\n
