Is doing permanent colour or semi-permanent halal?<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Answer:<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

It is permissible for men to dye their hair using dyes that are made from halal products<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Abu Huraira (RA) narrates that the Prophet of Allah (SAW) said: \u201cThe Jews and the Christians do not dye (their grey hairs), so you shall do the opposite of what they do.\u201d [1][Sahih Al-Bukhari hadith 3462]<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Although the above clearly defines the permissibility for men to dye their hair, however, one should refrain from the use of black dye.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

It is narrated by Abdullah ibn Abbas that the Prophet of Allah (SAW) said: At the end of time there will be people who will use this black dye like the crops of doves who will not experience the fragrance of Paradise. [2]<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

There is no problem with using permanent or semi-permanent dyes as long as it is not black for men.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

An important point to consider when using the dye is that this is not done for the wrong and unlawful reason. For example fashion and imitating non-believers.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In a Hadith, the Prophet of Allah (SAW) said: \u201cWhoever imitates a nation will be amongst them.\u201d [3]<\/span><\/p>\n
