I suffer majorly from waswas for a year now, so every little thing triggers me, whether it’s wudu or Salah or anything to do with religion. Today when I was praying I realised that when I go down to ruku, my hijab detaches from my neck but from under. It’s not visible from a 360-degree angle, but it’s exposed to the ground. I don’t know if that makes sense. So it’s not visible in the open, just from under my hijab. Does that count as my Awrah being exposed during Salah?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

No, it does not count as the Awrah being exposed. If the Awrah is covered as normal and is only exposed if a person looks from underneath, then this does not count as the Awrah being exposed, as it is common and hard to avoid (Fatawa Hindiyya, Vol 1, Pg 65). Due to the nature of the Hijab, it will inevitably somewhat detach from the neck during Ruku’. Therefore, your Awrah was not exposed in that situation and your Salah was valid.

Only Allah knows best.

Written by Alimah Zakiratul Hoque

Checked and approved by Mufti Mohammed Tosir Miah

Darul Ifta Birmingham

Fatwa ID: 06553 Answered by: Alimah Zakiratul Hoque Question: I have a question.
