[Surah Baqarah verse 187]<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Licking lips that are salty can be a result of two things.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>Actual salt from food<\/strong>. So for example if one had salt remaining on his lips from eating and licks it off knowing it\u2019s there and is aware of it, the fast is broken. If one didn\u2019t realise and licks the lips, the fast is not broken.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Our beloved prophet (SAW) mentions:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">\u0645\u064e\u0646\u0652 \u0646\u064e\u0633\u0650\u064a\u064e \u0648\u064e\u0647\u064f\u0648\u064e \u0635\u064e\u0627\u0626\u0650\u0645\u064c \u0641\u0623\u064e\u0643\u0644 \u0623\u0648 \u0634\u064e\u0631\u0650\u0628\u060c \u0641\u064e\u0644\u0652\u064a\u064f\u062a\u0650\u0645\u0651\u064e \u0635\u064e\u0648\u0652\u0645\u064e\u0647\u064f\u060c \u0641\u064e\u0625\u0650\u0646\u0651\u064e\u0645\u064e\u0627 \u0623\u064e\u0637\u0652\u0639\u064e\u0645\u064e\u0647\u064f \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0648\u064e\u0633\u064e\u0642\u064e\u0627\u0647\u064f<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Whoever eats or drinks forgetfully while he is fasting, let him complete his fast for Allah has fed him and given him drink. [Bukhari Hadeeth no: 1933]<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>Sweat that naturally occurs from the body\/face<\/strong> and one licks it. This doesn\u2019t fall into the category of food and drink. However technically, if one is to consume so much of it theoretically speaking e.g. deliberately licks and consumes so much of it etc. then it invalidates fast. But something like that doesn\u2019t happen as humans don\u2019t lick off sweat in abundance.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">It also mentions in Fath Al Qadeer:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">\u0625\u0630\u0627 \u062f\u062e\u0644 \u062f\u0645\u0648\u0639\u0647 \u0623\u0648 \u0639\u0631\u0642\u0647 \u062d\u0644\u0642\u0647 \u0648\u0647\u0648 \u0642\u0644\u064a\u0644 \u0643\u0642\u0637\u0631\u0629 \u0623\u0648 \u0642\u0637\u0631\u062a\u064a\u0646 \u0644\u0627 \u064a\u0641\u0637\u0631 \u0648\u0625\u0630\u0627 \u0643\u062b\u0631 \u0628\u062d\u064a\u062b \u064a\u062c\u062f \u0645\u0644\u0648\u062d\u062a\u0647 \u0641\u064a \u0627\u0644\u062d\u0644\u0642 \u0641\u0633\u062f<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">If tears or sweat enter into one\u2019s mouth and it is very less; (equivalent to) a drop or two his\/her fast is not broken. However, if it is so much (he consumes in abundance), where excessive saltiness is felt in his mouth, the fast is broken.
