Is the daughter of one\u2019s stepfather’s second wife a Mahram?<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Answer:<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In Islam, those who have been made haram for you have been indicated. Allah SWT states in the Qur’an:<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

“Prohibited to you [for marriage] are your mothers, your daughters, your sisters, your father’s sisters, your mother’s sisters, your brother’s daughters, your sister’s daughters, your [milk] mothers who nursed you, your sisters through nursing, your wives’ mothers, and your step-daughters under your guardianship [born] of your wives unto whom you have gone in. But if you have not gone in unto them, there is no sin upon you. And [also prohibited are] the wives of your sons who are from your [own] loins, and that you take [in marriage] two sisters simultaneously, except for what has already occurred.1 Indeed, Allah is ever Forgiving and Merciful.”<\/span><\/p>\n

The above relations are forbidden for a man to marry or have relations with.<\/span><\/p>\n

As for your stepfather’s children who are your step siblings, they are marriageable and are your non-mahrams. (2)<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

You may marry your step siblings and therefore you must observe the veil between each other.<\/span><\/p>\n
