Assalamualaikum wa rahmatullah, I have a question. In my area, I have noticed a trend of woollen hats (specifically: beanies) I have seen even non-Muslims wear this attire, is it permissible to wear this type of hat, in the winter season especially or, should we stick to the topic worn by the ulama.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

If the woollen hats are worn to keep oneself warm, and not for the purpose of following some fashion fad or trend, then it would be acceptable to wear them.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In general, Muslims should ensure that they display some salient features via which they can be recognized as being part of the Ummah of Nabi Sallalaahu alayhi wasallam , e.g. the beard, Islamic attire etc.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

This is so that the Ummah, wherever they may be, can rally together for worship, social upliftment and in the event of emergencies.<\/span><\/p>\n
