Someone didn’t realize it was Ashura and drank water after fajr time had entered. He didn’t have any intention the night before.\u00a0Can intention still be made to fast now that he realized?<\/span><\/p>\n

If a person drinks water after fajr<\/em> time has entered, the fast will not be valid. In principle, a person can make an intention of nafl<\/em> fast until nisf al- nahar<\/em> meaning exactly half time between subah al- sadiq<\/em> and sunset of the day, on the condition that the person did not eat anything after fajr<\/em> time entered.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
