Zaid gives \u00a31000 zakah through a fundraising platform thinking the entire \u00a31000 will go to Zakah whereas in fact 1% (\u00a310) of the donation will be taken by the platform as fees.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In response to this, the fundraiser themselves donates \u00a310 (net amount after fee deduction) on behalf of Zaid (without asking for any explicit consent from Zaid) to cover the amount that was taken by the platform.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Is this valid?<\/span><\/p>\n

I.e.\u00a0 Will the \u00a31000 entirety be considered as Zakah from Zaid or only \u00a3990?<\/span><\/p>\n

If the intention of Zaid was to pay \u00a31000 as zak\u0101t<\/em> then it is not permissible to pay the fees of \u00a310 from this money without the consent of Zaid. There is no problem, if the fundraiser decides to pay this fee on his own without informing Zaid, if he pays the entire amount of \u00a31000 which Zaid has intended to give as zak\u0101t<\/em> to eligible and deserving people. However, if the fundraiser decides to pay this fee from the \u00a31000 that Zaid has intended to give as zak\u0101t<\/em>, then he needs to get his permission.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
