I\u2019ve heard people mention that Saying jumuah mubarak is a bidah<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Answer:<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

There is no basis in Shariah for greeting one another with Jumuah Mubarak on the day of Jumuah. \u201cJumuah Mubarak\u201chas only been introduced recently in society and is fast becoming an ingrained custom circulated around in the form of WhatsApp, SMS and other methods. In fact, to regard it as Sunnah or an integral part of Jumu\u2019ah could result in it becoming a bid\u2019ah and a person will be obliged to stop it.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Jumua\u2019h is indeed a Mub\u0101rak (blessed) day.\u00a0\u00a0This is understood from the many Ah\u0101d\u012bth expounding on the virtues of a Friday.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

A believer is also fortunate and blessed to be alive on a Friday to witness the Barakah and blessings of a Friday.\u00a0\u00a0When one congratulates others with Jumua\u2019h Mub\u0101rak, this is an expression of reality.\u00a0\u00a0However, there is no mention in the Had\u012bth about Ras\u016blull\u0101h Sallall\u0101hu Alaihi Wa Sallam and Sah\u0101bah congratulating each other with Jumua\u2019h Mub\u0101rak.\u00a0\u00a0Hence, one may congratulate others with Jumua\u2019h Mub\u0101rak on condition it is not regarded to be a Sunnah or necessary.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Although the words \u2018Jumu\u02bfah Mub\u0101rak\u2019 (Blessed Friday) are not words taken from an established practice of the Prophet Mu\u1e25ammad (peace and blessings upon him), it would be permissible to say them with the following three conditions:<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u2022 One does not believe or intend it to be an established sunnah (prophetic practice).<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u2022 One does not believe it to be binding upon a person.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u2022 One does not look down upon someone not articulating the statement.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

An action or practice that is good, and not in apparent contradiction to any teachings of the Qur\u02bf\u0101n and the noble Sunnah, is considered \u201cmub\u0101\u1e25<\/em>\u201d (allowed), provided one has the correct intention (as stated in the above 3 conditions).<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Therefore, Saying Jummah Mubarak in principle is permissible, however, if someone thinks it to be necessary or that it is an established Sunnah of Friday, then it will become a bidah.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

NOTE: If a person fulfils the etiquettes and\u00a0sunnats<\/em> of a Friday as advised by Rasulullah \u0635\u0644\u064a \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645 such a person is blessed. There is no point in confining the congratulation of Jumua\u2019h<\/em>\u00a0Mubarak to verbal utterance without deriving the\u00a0barakat\u00a0<\/em>and blessings of\u00a0Jumua\u2019h<\/em>\u00a0for himself and encouraging others to do so.<\/span><\/p>\n
