Being in the month of Rabiul Awwal, a lot of messages came about if celebrating the birth of Nabi saw allowed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Answer:<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The love for Rasulullah (\ufdfa) is an integral part of one’s Imaan. One’s Imaan can never be perfect without loving\u00a0 Rasulullah (\ufdfa) more than one loves one’s own self, one’s parents, children and all his belongings.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Rasulullah (\ufdfa) mentioned:<\/span><\/p>\n

Indeed from the very inception of the world, the greatest happening was the birth of the leaders of all the Messengers, Muhammad, and Rasulullah (\ufdfa). It is amongst the wisdom of Allah Ta’ala that no one knows with certainty the exact day of his birth. However, Rasulullah (\ufdfa) was certainly born on a Monday thus He used to fast on a Monday.<\/span><\/p>\n

Allah Ta’ala mentions in the Holy Qur’an:<\/span><\/p>\n

“`Translation“`<\/span><\/p>\n

Say, \u201cIf you love Allah, then follow me, and Allah will love you and will forgive you your sins.\u201d Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Allah Ta’ala explains to us in the above verse how to express our love for Rasulullah (\ufdfa) and how to celebrate his birth\/coming to this world. We should express our love for Rasulullah (\ufdfa) by adopting his perfect way of life throughout our life and not restrict it to a certain day or month. A true lover does not restrict his love to a certain time of the year rather he continuously expresses his love.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The common practice of celebrating mawlood in our times is an innovation. It is neither established from Nabi (\ufdfa) the sahaba, tabieen, tabe tabieen, and fuqaha. Therefore it should not be practised, however, lectures on the biography of Nabi (\ufdfa) are an integral part of our deen. That should form part of our everyday life.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Things which are disapproved of within the mawlid:<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

1) Mentioning only the birth events of the Messenger of Allah (\ufdfa) in such gatherings,<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

2) Restricting the Mawlid gathering to a particular date,<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

3) Thinking it to be obligatory and binding upon everybody,<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

4) It is called a day of Eid, whilst Islam has only prescribed two Eids,<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

5) Celebrating the Mawlid is considered to be necessary,<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

6) Unlawful practices (such as intermingling of the sexes and musical instruments) take place.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

7) Wrongful act (people regard it as necessary to stand and recite the Salaami or to consider it a sunnah. Even worse to believe Nabi (\ufdfa) is present where salami takes place.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In light of the above, it will not be permissible to celebrate the Mawlid even if a person believes that Nabi (\ufdfa) is not present. Muslims should rather strive to revive the Sunnah and put an end to bid\u2019ah (innovation).<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

If gatherings are conducted at random in which the love of Nabi (\ufdfa) is discussed and people are encouraged to follow the Sunnah, then that is permissible on condition there is nothing un-Islamic in such gatherings.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Therefore the true lovers of Nabi (\ufdfa) do mawlid every day. And the essence of mawlid is reading salawaat upon Nabi (\ufdfa) at least 300 to 500 times daily, and reading about Nabi (\ufdfa) and his teachings from kitaabs such as Fazaa\u2019il-e-A`maal, hayatus sahaba, Seeratul Mustafa and Shamail Muhammadiyyah.<\/span><\/p>\n
