I am going to Pakistan InshaAllah <\/span>on the 31st of May<\/span>, I\u2019ll be staying there <\/span>till the 3rd of July <\/span>then going on 40 days of jamaat, then staying there for 1 more week approx and then returning to the UK.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

During my holiday from 31\/5\/23 to 3\/7\/23, I won\u2019t be fixed in one place for more than 14 days, I\u2019ll be moving to different houses. The distance between those places ranges from 34-49 miles.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

For example, first I\u2019ll go to A, stay for 2 days then move to B (34 miles away)- stay for a week, then go to C (42 miles away) stay for a few days then go back to B and stay for a few days (42 miles away) and then go to D (49 miles away).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. What should I do between 31\/5\/23 to 3\/7\/23?<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. During 40 days jammat, yes I\u2019ll be reading behind the imam, but I\u2019m I still a Musafir. (In case I miss\/ and for sunnah salah)<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. What should I do for the 1 week after jammat?\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Can you read Salah sitting on a plane, and does it have to be repeated and can I join 2 prayers upon landing?\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n

    In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

    Answer:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    1- To be established as a Musafir, one must leave their hometown with the intention to travel 48 miles or above. After this, unless you intend to reside at a place for 15 days or more, you will remain a traveller.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    The key here is the intention, so throughout your stay in Pakistan at residences A, B, C and D, you will remain a Musafir in all these places and pray Qasr salah because you intend to stay at each of these places for less than 15 days.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    2- If you intend to reside in one location during the 40 days of jammat, you will cease to be a Musafir the moment you arrive at the intended destination. You must pray full salah behind the Imam.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    3- After the 40 days of jammat you will be considered a Muqeem and pray full salah until you set out of your residence to travel 48 miles and have left the city.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    4- You may pray salah while sitting on a plane without having to worry about facing the Qiblah because the plane will constantly change directions, making it difficult to constantly determine and change to the correct direction. However, you will have to do qadha of the prayer later.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    5- The Hanafi opinion is that a Musafir must intend to reside somewhere for 15 days and nights in order to be considered a Muqeem. This opinion is based on the narrations of Ibn Umar and Ibn Abbas RA: \u201dWhen you arrive at a country as a traveller and intend to stay there for 15 days then complete the Salah and if you do not know how long you will wander then shorten it.\u201d[3]<\/span><\/p>\n
