For example, if a man is to marry one of them, whenever he is intimate with his wife, the sister would be present as well. And this is not permissible in Islam, to be intimate with one’s spouse in the presence of another person, as the other person would see the Satr of the 2 people, and this goes against Hayaa’, modesty, etc. Similarly, we would be opening the doors to the man seeing and touching the other sister (even if it were only by accident) and making it much more possible for such occurrences to happen. The only “solution” to this would be that the man marry both the sisters so that they are both Halal for him, but combining 2 sisters in one Nikaah is impermissible as well in Islam[1].

Keeping these points in mind, it wouldn’t be possible to permit either of the twins to get married whilst they are still joined. The only solution would be that they would have to be separated through surgery, then they would be able to marry.

Only Allah knows best.

Written by Muftiyah Zainab Nakhuda

Checked and approved by Mufti Mohammed Tosir Miah

Darul Ifta Birmingham

[1] Mukhtasar Al Qudoori, page 145, Maktabah Shamelah

ولا يجمع بين أختين بنكاح

Fatwa ID: 07011 Answered by: Muftiyah Zainab Nakhuda Question: What is the Hukum of Nikah for conjoined twins? In the…

[11
