 <\/p>\n

Any issue giving zakat to someone who has incurred debt through gambling. He is not gambling anymore?<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In the name of <\/strong><\/u>All<\/strong><\/u><\/em>\u0101<\/strong><\/u><\/em>h<\/strong><\/u><\/em>, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful<\/strong><\/u><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Answer:<\/strong><\/u><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

To provide help to another is a reward worthy act. May All\u0101h Ta\u2019\u0101l\u0101<\/em> reward you for your intentions. \u0100meen.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

All\u0101h Ta\u2019\u0101l\u0101 <\/em>has ordained on us: \u201cBe steadfast in Sal\u0101h<\/em> (prayer), and pay Zak\u0101h<\/em>, and bow down with those who bow down (in worship and obedience)\u201d. [Surah al-Baqarah; 2:43<\/em>] [1]<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

All\u0101h Ta\u2019\u0101l\u0101<\/em> says in regards to gambling: \u201cSatan only wants to cause between you animosity and hatred through intoxicants and gambling and to avert you from the remembrance of Allah and from prayer. So will you not desist?\u201d [Surah al-M\u0101\u2019idah; 5:91<\/em>] [2]<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Though the person has committed a grave sin by gambling, if there wealth is below the threshold of Nis<\/em>\u0101b<\/em> then it would be permitted to aid them with your Zakat<\/em> money.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

It may be prudent to make another a Wakeel<\/em> (an agent) to handle the money so to be certain that the money is not used for any sinful acts.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Only All\u0101h Ta\u2019\u0101l\u0101 <\/em>knows best.<\/span><\/p>\n
