It is mubah or permissible to use candles either for light or yankee fragrance candles. That is the purpose of candles, to spread light and fragrance, if there is a need for it.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

However, what is forbidden is blowing or using the candles on occasions like birthdays as there are many pagan theories attached to it.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The first one is the Greek theory, which says that the tradition of blowing candles on birthdays is connected to the ancient practice of lighting the candles in order to worship the birth of the Goddess Artemis. For the Ancient Greeks, putting candles on a cake<\/a> was a special way to pay tribute<\/a> to the Greek moon<\/a> goddess, Artemis. They baked round<\/a> cakes to symbolize<\/a> the moon. Candles were added to represent the reflected moonlight. According to another theory, the tradition of blowing candles originated in Switzerland in the year 1881.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In old days pagans used to survive each year\u2019s cold by hibernating. Some of them would die due to the severe weather. After the cold they used to count the dead and the remaining alive people would celebrate by blowing candles on the cake.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Another tradition was amongst the Greeks where they used to pray to the moon God by blowing candles and wishing on the honey cake which resembles the moon. Also wishing on the candles and blowing them is haram<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Candles on cakes became a popular tradition<\/a> long ago in Germany, too. For religious reasons, Germans<\/a> would place a large candle in the centre of a cake to symbolise<\/a> \u201cthe light of life.”1<\/sup><\/span><\/p>\n

As for magic candle, Relighting Candle are commonly known as Magic Candles. Candle Stands are also provided in the pack. Relighting Candles relight automatically a number of times even after they are repeatedly blown off.2<\/sup><\/span><\/p>\n
